Uganda Busoga Cultural Association of Canada (UBUCACA) has made significant achievements in sustainable development and in lifting the standard of living of its people in Canada through mindset change, Cultural Assimilation to the Canadian diversity but also embracing their true cultural norms. Innovation has been widely articulated across all sectors of Canada’s innovation system. to some, innovation refers to research and development activities occurring within Canadian universities. to others, innovation involves not only research activities, but also commercialization and technology transfer funded and performed throughout an innovation system. The innovation system is comprised of private sector industries, research organizations, health and education institutions, and governments. A broader definition views innovation as any form of creative activity or thinking that takes place across all facets of life and work. Within this context, innovation may be defined as: A process through which value is extracted from skills and knowledge by generating, developing, and implementing ideas. Reaching the full potential of innovation means leveraging ideas and knowledge to enhance quality of life and economic development

So, considering inclusive development thinking, Uganda Busoga Cultural Association of Canada (UBUCACA) in partnership with Global Event Services of Canada (GESC) has seen the importance of innovation in achieving the SDGs has been recognised at all levels around the world. In this context, innovation is construed as new forms of social practice, institutional change, and organization as well as new or improved technological products and processes and is not confined to the area of technological and scientific innovation (UNCTAD 2017). The UBUCACA and GESC is organizing first of its kind a cultural inclusion into the promotion of innovation by promoting further use of Science Technology and Innovation to address global challenges and development matters such as food security, gender equality, health, energy, water, transport, environment, empowerment of vulnerable groups and disaster-related problems.
